Le mercredi 25 Aout 2021, s’est tenu un webinaire portant sur la thématique « découverte de l’écosystème québécois des VFX ». Cet échange initié par la société de production EM&MB en collaboration avec RTI Distribution et la Fondation Jeunesse Numérique, s’inscrivait dans le cadre du démarrage du programme AFRO VFX.
Conduit par M. Éric M’BOUA et M. Dédy BILAMBA, tous deux co-fondateurs de la société EM&MB, AFRO VFX est un programmebasé sur les effets spéciaux cinématographiques qui vise à favoriser l’éclosion d’une génération « d’artistes numériques » africains, par la formation, le perfectionnement et le mentorat, avec à la clé, 3 courts métrages incluant des VFX, qui seront tournés en Côte d’Ivoire à l’été 2022.
Les initiateurs, entendent ainsi, apporter une nouvelle texture au cinéma africain tout en s’inspirant de modèles internationaux, à l’image de celui du Québec.
Etant encore au stade de démarrage, le programme AFRO VFX bénéficie déjà du soutien de partenaires nationaux et internationaux, parmi lesquels, le studio AFRIKA TOON.
AFRO VFX, an innovation for African cinema.
On Wednesday, August 25th, 2021, was held a webinar on the theme « discovery of the Quebec ecosystem of VFX ». This exchange initiated by the production company EM&MB in collaboration with RTI Distribution and the Fondation Jeunesse Numérique, was part of the launch of the AFRO VFX program.
Led by Mr. Eric M’BOUA and Mr. Dédy BILAMBA, both co-founders of the company EM&MB, AFRO VFX is a program based on cinematographic special effects that aims to foster the emergence of a generation of « digital African Artists », through training, development and mentoring, with a final result of, 3 short films including VFX, which will be shot in Côte d’Ivoire in summer 2022.
The initiators intend to bring a new texture to African cinema while taking inspiration from international models, such as Quebec.
Still in the start-up stage, the AFRO VFX program already has the support of national and international partners, including the studio AFRIKA TOON.
